Call for Artists

Sabathani Community Center invites Black artists to submit their work for a unique opportunity to showcase talent, connect with the community, and gain valuable exposure.

Each selected artist will enjoy a one-week residency in a dedicated space at Sabathani Community Center. During the residency, artists can:

  • Exhibit completed work
  • Create pieces on-site
  • Sell their artwork

This program offers emerging artists a supportive platform to share their creative voice and build meaningful connections.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to Black artists of all ages whose work has not yet been showcased in local galleries. A wide range of visual art forms is welcome, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, woodworking, photography, textiles such as knitting, crocheting, and quilting, jewelry, greeting cards, clothing design, seasonal creations, and other innovative or uncategorizable works.

How to Apply

Apply online by filling out the form below or pick up a printed application from the Sabathani Administrative Offices, Suite 120, located at 310 East 38th Street, Minneapolis.
