It’s movie time! Every third Thursday of the month, we come together with other seniors to watch movies on the big screen in the Sabathani auditorium.
This month, we have a very special presentation including guest speaker Sheletta Brundidge, children’s author, an Emmy Award winning comedian, and a local activist.
The movie will be Hope in the Struggle: The Josie Johnson Story, a documentary reflecting on the life of freedom fighter and civic leader Dr. Josie Johnson, who fought for fair housing, education, and civil rights. Hear in her own words how her experiences turned her to activism, what action looks like, and how the next generation is taking up the mantle. The struggle for justice and equality continues, but there is hope in the struggle.
When: Thursday, September 19 at 12:30pm
Where: Sabathani Community Center Auditorium
Admission: Free to attend!
Ice cream and popcorn included!
