Join us for an evening of discussion and reflection hosted by the Minnesota Justice Research Center, in commemoration of the three-year anniversary since the tragic police murder of George Floyd.
The event will take place at The Square event space, located in George Floyd Square at 3736 Chicago Avenue South.
We will delve into the history of policing and the significant opportunities that have emerged, featuring esteemed speakers Dr. Yohuru Williams and Dr. Michael Lansing. Together, we will explore the collaborative efforts of the community in shaping a consent decree between the Minnesota Department of Human Rights and the Minneapolis Police Department. Through a facilitated conversation, we aim to gain insights into the experiences and emotions associated with these endeavors and discuss the path forward.
Doors will open at 5:30pm, and the program will commence at 6pm. Food will be provided.
After the event, we invite all attendees to participate in the candlelight vigil at George Floyd Square as part of the Rise & Remember celebration.
Everyone is welcome to join us in this moment of reflection and unity.
