Your Voice Matters

Maternal Health Matters is inviting new and expecting Black mothers and birthing people in South Minneapolis to join a focus group and share real experiences that can help improve pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support for Black families.

What to Expect

One 90-minute session
✅ $50 stipend for participating
✅ A welcoming space to connect with other Black mothers and birthing people
✅ A guided conversation to share what’s working, what’s not, and what support would make a difference

Sessions will be scheduled beginning February 2026.

Why Participate

Your voice can help shape more responsive, community-centered maternal health services in South Minneapolis. Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Discuss challenges and needs during pregnancy and postpartum
  • Learn more about community-based maternal health programs
  • Offer ideas to improve maternal health care and support for Black families

To help make participation easier, childcare, transportation support, and virtual participation may be available.

  • Identify as Black or African American
  • Identify as a mother or birthing person
