A Place to Land

Help more young people find stable housing

Every young person deserves a place to land.

Housing is the foundation for everything else, but right now too many young people in South Minneapolis don’t have it.

At Sabathani Community Center, we work every day to prevent homelessness and help young people find stable housing. But current resources only allow us to reach a fraction of those who need support.

The Need

South Minneapolis continues to experience a high concentration of housing instability, with thousands of individuals across Hennepin County facing homelessness and rising economic pressures.

Young people are especially vulnerable, often navigating unstable housing, financial barriers, and limited support systems.

What We’re Doing

Through our Youth Housing Services, Sabathani helps young people:

  • Secure stable housing
  • Navigate applications and approvals
  • Cover critical upfront costs Access support during housing transitions
  • Stay housed during moments of crisis
Our Housing Services team works directly with young people to secure and maintain stable housing.

The Gap

Right now, Sabathani has funding to support 30 young people through the end of 2026.

But the need goes far beyond that.

This spring, we’re raising $100,000 to expand our reach—helping approximately 50 additional young people access safe, stable housing.

What Your Gift Supports

Your donation helps cover the real barriers that stand in the way of housing:

  • Application fees
  • Security deposits
  • First month’s rent
  • Emergency rental support

These are often the final steps that make stable housing possible.

Help more young people find a place to land.
