Building Strong Black Families Together
At Sabathani Community Center, we are proud to launch Roots: The Black Family Foundation, a transformative series of activities designed to strengthen Black families. In 2025, we are partnering with Dr. Rose Brewer, Kente Circle, and Carmen Lewis to offer biweekly classes, monthly forums, and opportunities for parents to connect and share.
Current and upcoming activities include the Black Family Wellness Healing Circles and The Black Family Course.

Black bodies deserve to be well and whole. Together, we can remember, reclaim, and reposition ourselves to claim our God-given right to wellness.
Join us at Sabathani Community Center for monthly healing circles led by Carmen Lewis, Natalia Davis, Dee McIntosh, Dedra Slack, and other facilitators. These sessions offer culturally specific tools to heal as a collective and increase overall health and well-being. Let’s heal, grow, and thrive together.
