Sabathani Community Center’s Community Unite Violence Prevention Project is tackling youth violence head-on, empowering young people and strengthening community bonds. Together, we’re creating a safer, stronger South Minneapolis.
Join a Youth Advisory Board (YAB) to:
Lead your peers in conversations about gun violence prevention
Explore career paths
Develop cultural awareness
Groups available for ages 10–14, 15–17, and 18+.
Plan your future with Workforce Strategies, offering:
One-on-one career counseling
Forklift certification
Drone pilot training
Job readiness workshops & career fairs
Learn conflict resolution, self-advocacy, and healing tools using the Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM)—designed to build confidence and break cycles of trauma.
Be heard. Get inspired. Join monthly forums on violence prevention, healing, and leadership that bring youth, families, and community members together.
Build bonds through movement. Enjoy our open gym every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday—because community starts with connection.
Youth and adults ages 10–35 from low-income households in South Minneapolis neighborhoods: Bancroft, Bryant, Central, Corcoran, Kingfield, and Powderhorn.
