
Join us for a paid 5-week training session and open doors to fulfilling careers!
- Get Paid to Learn: Earn $550 per week while learning from instructors from the Center for Energy and Environment (CEE). The first two weeks of training will be facilitated by staff from HIRED and focus on career exploration and career readiness, and the following three weeks will focus on building science. All five weeks are required to attend to earn the full stipend amount and opportunity to earn the certification.
- Earn Valuable Credentials: Receive an industry-recognized certification in Building Science Principles (BSP). Building science explores how changing one part of a home can affect homeowners’ comfort, health, and safety.

Instruction will be led by Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) and will include the following:
- Basics of building science and home energy audits, insulation, and air sealing
- Installation training from experts
- Relevant job-site safety guidelines, math for construction, and more!
- Basic support services (bus, gas cards, etc.)
Requirements to qualify for the Home Energy Career Training:
- 18 years or older.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- 5th-6th grade reading and math level required; U.S. high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver’s license or are in the process of obtaining one. Note: a valid driver’s license is required for the 16-week paid internship and employment opportunities.

- TRACK 1: Energy Auditor
- TRACK 2: Insulation Contractor
- TRACK 3: HVAC
Earn additional credentials from the Building Performance Institute.
