Prepare yourself for a fulfilling career in solar energy!

Join one of our training programs and explore the essential aspects of solar energy and installation processes, preparing yourself for an exciting future in this rapidly expanding industry. Community youth strongly encouraged to apply! 

Training Highlights: 

  • Hands-on experience with electricity 
  • Introduction to solar energy principles 
  • Fundamentals of photovoltaics 
  • Site tours and company visits 

Plus, you can earn while you learn! Stipends available for qualified participants. 

A potential to get certified! Certification course participants (ages 18+) have an opportunity to sit for the NABCEP PV Associate Exam, which qualifies an individual to design, sell, install, or maintain systems in a supervised capacity.

Join this 7-day hands-on training to explore the basics of solar energy and prepare for opportunities in the growing renewable energy field! 

Earn While You Learn: Participants will complete 35 hours of training and earn $20/hour—receiving a total of $700 upon course completion.

What You’ll Learn

Explore renewable energy through interactive sessions and hands-on projects, including:

  • Fundamentals of solar construction
  • Job site safety practices
  • Career pathways in solar and essential soft skills
  • Solar array setup and operation
  • Progress toward OSHA 10 and IronRidge Certified Installer certifications

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 17 years or older
  • Basic high school-level reading and math skills required
  • Preference given to BIPOC youth (ages 17–24) living within 6 miles of George Floyd Square.
