Naomi Abraham joined Sabathani in August 2024 and serves as the Community Health Navigator for Maternal Health. Naomi is a first-generation Eritrean American, born and raised in Minnesota. Prior to joining Sabathani, Naomi obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She then moved to Cleveland, OH where she received her Master of Science in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University. Naomi has over four years of healthcare experience where she observed how health inequities affect a patient’s outcome, and two years of teaching experience where she served as a mentor to encourage underserved students. Naomi’s experiences, combined with her passion for health advocacy and reproductive health, strengthen her goal to improve health literacy in the South Minneapolis community. With pregnancy and postpartum related mortality rates reaching an all-time high in diverse populations, Naomi is dedicated to creating a safe space that reduces stress during this critical period. Through cultivating community togetherness and promoting healthy living and well-being, Naomi exemplifies a commitment to ensure that pregnancy and postpartum is a joyous and safe experience.
