A Community Celebration with Stories of Climate & Environmental Justice

Saturday, January 31
2-4pm

2pm refreshments | 2:30pm program
Sabathani Community Center – Auditorium

Join us for a vibrant community celebration, where neighbors share stories of climate & environmental justice, solutions and visions for a better world.

Hear freshly crafted stories from your Twin Cities neighbors—many stepping up to the mic for the first time. Join us in celebrating community members who courageously share their lived experiences of climate change and environmental justice, along with their solutions and visions for a more vibrant future.

Featuring the Afro-Latin to hip hop and R&B beats of drummer Kevin Washington, who will intersperse spoken stories.

Enjoy refreshments and an immersive afternoon of stories, poetry, and music that engage head, heart, and soul. Together, we’ll prepare ourselves to meet the urgent environmental challenges of our time and explore meaningful ways to respond. Attendees will also learn about the State of Minnesota’s Environmental Justice Cumulative Impacts Bill Rule (passed in 2023) and opportunities to use the power of our stories in its implementation.

Community participation is crucial in this process, as our stories have the power to ensure the law carries the strength and accountability it was intended to have.

Space is limited – register in advance!
