Join us for an afternoon of music, food, family fun, and neighborhood connection!
We’re creating a celebration that reflects the Heart of South Minneapolis. Throughout the day, you can look forward to:
- Live music and entertainment with Sounds of Blackness, Johnnie Brown, and more!
- Delicious food from local vendors
- Family-friendly activities and games
- Community organizations and local businesses
- Opportunities to connect with neighbors old and new
- Stories celebrating Sabathani’s history and impact
- Special recognition honoring Clarissa Walker and Launa Q. Newman
- Plus, a backpack giveaway!
Backpack Giveaway Details: Families can reserve a free backpack filled with school supplies for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade when they register for the event. Limit 3 backpacks per family while supplies last. Reserved backpacks must be picked up by 2:30pm at the Block Party. Any unclaimed backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis after 2:30pm, while supplies last.
