Environmental Sustainability Academy – Session 1

The Environmental Sustainability Academy is a paid 13-Week training to become a certified home energy auditor or insulation installer, for youth ages 18 to 24 who live in a 3-mile radius of George Floyd Square.

Program Details 

• Compensation: Earn $2,275 ($175 per week) and receive an industry-recognized credential in Building Science Principles (BSP) 
• Session Start Date: Session 1 begins on October 17, 2023  
• Time: Meetings every Tuesday and Thursday for 13 weeks from 6 to 8 pm  
• Location: Sabathani Community Center, 310 East 38th Street in Minneapolis 
• Instructor: Architect Andrew McGlory  

Eligibility Requirements 

• Age: 18 to 24 
• Eligibility: Legally authorized to work in the U.S.  
• Skills: 5th-grade level reading and math, basic computer skills  
• Residency: Must live within a 3-mile radius of George Floyd Square (38th Street and Chicago Avenue) in Minneapolis
