A supportive space for Black pregnant and postpartum people
Pregnancy and early motherhood bring change, new responsibilities, and plenty of demands on your time and energy. Rooted in Maternal Wellness offers a supportive space for Black pregnant and postpartum people to slow down, connect, and develop practical tools for caring for their well-being.
This ongoing workshop series is designed to help participants feel more grounded, strengthen relationships, navigate change and loss, and develop sustainable practices for rest and self-care.

What to Expect
Throughout the series, workshops will explore a variety of wellness practices and topics, including:
- Guided wellness practices and somatic release
- Restorative yoga
- Journaling and creative healing through art
- Conversations about grief and loss
- Self-care planning
- Self-compassion practices
Participants will also receive resources and practical tools to continue supporting their well-being between sessions.
Who Can Participate?
This workshop is for Black pregnant and postpartum people, up to 12 months postpartum, who are currently participating in Sabathani’s Maternal Health Matters program.
