September 2026: New Beginnings, Continued Momentum

September 2026: New Beginnings, Continued Momentum

Sabathani Family & Friends,

September always brings a sense of new beginnings. Across our community, students are heading back to classrooms, families are settling into new routines, and educators are preparing for another year of learning, growth, and possibility.

At Sabathani Community Center, Back to School is about more than the first day of class. It is about making sure our children and families have the resources, relationships, and support they need to thrive—not just this school year, but for years to come.

This fall, I am especially encouraged by the work happening throughout Sabathani. Our recently published Midyear Report provides an important look at the progress we have made together and the impact of our programs, services, partnerships, and community investments. More importantly, it reminds us that behind every number is a person, a family, or a young person whose life is being strengthened by the work we do together.

The report reflects something I see every day: Sabathani is a place where community happens. It is a place where young people can learn and grow, families can find support, older adults can remain connected, and neighbors can come together to build a stronger future.

As we welcome students back to school, I am reminded that education and community development are deeply connected. A child’s success is influenced not only by what happens in the classroom, but also by whether their family has access to stable resources, whether they feel safe and supported, and whether they know they have a community standing behind them.

That is why the work of Sabathani matters.

Our responsibility is not simply to provide programs. It is to help create the conditions where individuals and families can pursue their goals with dignity, confidence, and opportunity. The progress captured in our Midyear Report is a reflection of that commitment—and of the incredible dedication of our staff, volunteers, partners, supporters, and community members.

As we look toward the remainder of 2026, we will continue building on that momentum. We will listen to our community, strengthen the services that matter most, develop new opportunities, and remain focused on creating a Sabathani that is responsive, welcoming, and prepared for the future.

To the students returning to school: believe in yourselves, stay curious, and know that your community believes in you.

To parents, caregivers, educators, and everyone supporting our young people: thank you. Your encouragement, patience, and commitment make a difference every day.

And to the Sabathani community as a whole: thank you for continuing to believe in what is possible when we work together.

A new school year is a reminder that every September gives us another opportunity to learn, grow, and begin again. The Midyear Report shows us how far we have come. The months ahead give us the opportunity to determine how much further we can go.

Together, we are building a stronger Sabathani—and a stronger community for generations to come.

With gratitude,

Scott Redd
President & CEO
