About the Artist: Serena Black
Queen Serena Black is a multidisciplinary artist rooted in the worlds of visual art and theater. Working primarily in acrylic, collage, and sculpture, she brings a bold, expressive voice to her work. Her contributions to the Twin Cities arts scene include:
- Puppet-making with In the Heart of the Beast Theatre and Barebones
- A mural honoring George Floyd
- Featured works in exhibitions such as Art As My Weapon and Beauty From Ashes
- Hosting For the Love of Hip Hop, a local festival celebrating hip hop culture
- Appearances in theatrical productions, including The Impact Theory of Mass Extinction
Serena uses her art as a tool for healing, storytelling, and community connection.
